Friday Night Lights
Saturday, September 9th, 2006It looks like the Wolverines did it again in a low scoring football game on Friday night. They held on to win with a 13 to 7 victory in overtime. A 36 yard touchdown run in the second quarter by the Wolverine’s Matt Libert was the first score of the game. Both teams struggled on offense and were pretty ineffective throwing key interceptions throughout the game. Filer came back in the fourth quarter and scored on a 1 yard touchdown run to even up the score. Both teams couldnt come up with any other scores and it sent the game into overtime. The Wildcats had their chance in the overtime, but Mike Smith’s third-down pass intended for Tyson Johnson was intercepted at the one-yard line by Wolverines defensive back Carter Stewart. A couple of hard runs by Wolverine’s Thompson drove in for the winning touchdown and the game was over. Next stop for the Wolverines is at Buhl next Friday night on the 15th.
