Editor note: We've pulled one excerpt below from their Viet Nam Travel Log.

I've left two brothers behind and I hope they make it out alive... Steve, Eric and I have had the brother's heaven...

We've discussed politics naturally, family, beer, women, this war and that one, and where to find the best pho. We visited places remote and all too close to home. We've had heat, rain, cold and fog thick enough to cut. We've been screwed over by taxi drivers and laid side by side while small Vietnamese women walked barefoot all over us. We've met some odd and unusual folks and some we would just as soon forget. We ate breakfast at the market in Sa pa with a girl from SF the few brave westerners there, only to find her at a tea vendor in Saigon a cultural world and two weeks apart. We've been winked at, sneered at, slapped, hit, and hit on by women and... men. And none of that even hurt. We've slept with cockroaches, and slept in fine linen. We ate pig ear pate (once was enough), drank drank beer, and became pho kings. We became brothers again. We are a band of brothers... mot, hai, ba. (one, two, three)

Travel is all about opening your mind to the sights and smells and experiences that our world has to offer. A man we met along the way reminded us "Viet Nam is a place, not a war and really he's right. The people here are real people. Mostly just like home. Mostly a lot like you and me. Some just squeak by, and others actually make a western style success. Cyclo drivers offer a smoke to their passengers in hopes of securing future fares and the door man remembers all our names...we can't pronounce his. Most of them are happy with their government but no more than we are with ours. They too are worried about criticizing "the man" for fear that he might be watching. There are no bullet trains in Viet Nam but the train posters all advertise one. There is hope here but it is often shrouded in a white lie or held in some greased palm. Here people work hard to get by with what they've been given.

I came here with what I had been given, my two brothers. They are the only two I have.
I love my brothers. They are loads of fun.
Scott

Q. Favorite website
A. www.couchsurfing.com and Viet Nam Travel Log

Q. Favorite feature/article on SunValleyOnline
A. Events Section - always something fun to do in there

Q. What is your pet peeve that some restaurant customers are sometimes guilty of
A. Talking too loud on cell phones

Q. What is the nicest thing a customer of yours has done?
A. Dan and Martine Drackett once gave me a painting because I said I liked it. It still rests above the fireplace at the Grill

Q. What's your favorite dish as the Grill?
A. Anything Anne Makes

Q. How is eating at the Mason household different from eating at the grill (in terms of food)
A. At home the cooks enjoy a glass of wine while cooking the meal; also we have a vegetarian in the family so many of our meals are meat free and full of exotic flavors from India, Viet Nam and Thailand. At home the meals tend to be a bit more spontaneous and a bit less refined. I love to cook at home and I love it when Anne cooks too.
